The Felloeship - 2018

CNC cut Charred Oak - 1st year installation

During my inaugural year at the Bartlett, our studio was captivated by the craftsmanship of Victorian Wheelwright, George Scammel. Delving into the wheel-making process, we unearthed that they were constructed using wooden "felloe" modules. Drawing inspiration from this, we reinterpreted the module concept. Using CNC technology, we crafted oak pieces showcasing a charred gradient, culminating in a chair that both tessellates and captivates.
