House for a Herbalist - 2018
1st Year Building Project
During my inaugural year at architecture school, I conceived the "House for a Herbalist," perfectly nestled within a vacant space in the heart of Shoreditch. The unique form and massing of the structure were birthed not just from imagination but by nature itself: I cultivated a plant within a scale model, allowing its growth trajectory to guide the building's shape.
The exterior is graced with a flowing bamboo façade, punctuated with plant pots. It's not just an architectural feature but a living one; the herbalist can effortlessly pluck fresh herbs from these pots without even stepping outside. This design merges the rhythms of nature with the pulse of urban life.
