Thallo Planter
Thallo Planter is a reflection on the tension between creation and destruction, the natural and the artificial, the ancient and the future. 3D Printed from waste clay exccavated in London, it carries the weight of forgotten landscapes and discarded histories. Its form, inspired by the organic logic of living systems, speaks to the intelligence embedded in nature, while its construction, guided by algorithmic choreography, suggests a new paradigm where code becomes an extension of the human hand. Thallo Planter is a critique of our fractured relationship with the planet: it asks us to consider what we take, what we leave, and how we might rebuild a world where technology does not dominate nature but learns from it, embodies it, and honors its rhythms.
The planter features a self-watering system, where the soil and water are kept in integrated yet separate vessels, connected with a hydroponic wick. This allows the plant to only uptake water as it’s needed, which avoids over/unerwatering.
This piece is made to order with a lead time of 4 weeks. As the planter is hand-finished and the clay body varies, each piece is unique and will vary slightly from the images and dimensions shown.
